Zwei Kraniche

Located at the leafy train station of Berlin's Hermsdorf, Zwei Kraniche is a specialty coffee venue that is about great coffee, food and taking a break from your commute. It's also great starting or end point for beautiful walks in nature and cycling trips nearby, including Tegler Fließ, Tegler Forst, Lübars, the Berlin Mauerweg and more.

Founders Maciej and Marian opened Zwei Kraniche in late 2019 – they loved good coffee but couldn’t find a place in their area that served the quality they were used to. So, they took it upon themselves to fill the missing gap and bring specialty coffee to Hermsdorf.

When you think of a cafe located within a Bahnhof, you might think of low-quality or commercial coffee chain. However, Zwei Kraniche is anything but a typical train station coffee stop – they pride themselves not only on excellent coffee, but in their creation of a calm, cozy environment that acts as a
meeting point for people of all ages, backgrounds, nationalities and genders.

''We love the slow vibe of Hermsdorf which is surrounded by forests, lakes and marshes. It’s still Berlin, but more slow-paced,'' says Maciej. ''We discovered how wonderful the Hermsdorf community is pretty much right from the start, and it is this community that makes our work so rewarding.''

From their shady and tree-lined cafe, the Zwei Kraniche team serve croissants, sandwiches, paninis, bagels, cakes and much more. And of course, they always have a great selection of coffee beans from Berlin, including beans from Field Coffee and our friends at Fjord Coffee Roasters.

When visiting, be sure to try their specialty, the 'Zwei Kraniche Latte': a unique blend of specialty coffee mixed with their in-house, roasted spices. The traditional spiced Sri Lankan coffee recipe has been passed down in their family from generation to generation, and is now a favourite of both their regulars and new customers.
