Coffee grinders from Baratza, Sage, and Lelit

Pick the grinder that fits how you brew, and the machine question gets a lot easier.

The grinder is the part of your setup that does the most work shaping how the coffee tastes. Big burrs, even particle size, low retention. We stock Baratza for filter and entry-level espresso, Sage for matching their machines, and Lelit for paddle-group pairings. Each one is built to be serviced. Skip the gimmicks, pick the burr.

Where to start

Three lanes. Filter, entry espresso, or a grinder built to keep up with a serious machine.

  1. Tier 01

    Filter and hand brewing

Baratza Encore and Virtuoso+ are the entry conicals. Even particle size for V60, Chemex, AeroPress, French press. Affordable, repairable, hard to break.

  2. Tier 02

    Entry espresso

Encore ESP Pro, Smart Grinder Pro, and Lelit Fred Prima all hit espresso fineness with proper micro-adjustment. The right step up when filter grind is no longer enough.

  3. Tier 03

    Single-dose and paddle setups

Sette 270, Vario+, Forté, and Lelit William. Bigger burrs, lower retention, the kind of grind quality that lets a paddle-group machine actually do its job.

Common questions

FAQ

  1. Q01 Warranty

Manufacturer warranty applies. Specifics on each product page. Get in touch if anything goes wrong: answers@field-coffee.de.

  2. Q02 Shipping and delivery

We ship from Berlin across Germany and the EU. Stock and dispatch times on each product page.

  3. Q03 One grinder for filter and espresso?

Possible, but the dial gets finicky. If you brew filter most days and pull occasional espresso, the Encore ESP Pro can do both. If you're doing both regularly, you'll save yourself headaches by running two grinders. Filter conical plus dedicated espresso single-dose is the setup most specialty cafés recommend.

  4. Q04 Why does the grinder matter so much?

Particle size is what controls extraction. A €600 machine with a €40 blade grinder will taste worse than a €300 machine with a real burr grinder. Burr type (conical or flat), burr size (40mm, 54mm, 64mm), and adjustment fineness all change what's actually in your cup. The grinder is doing the work.

  5. Q05 Which coffee should I use?

Any of our roasts work, but filter coffee wants Pan Am or our Single Origin Filter, espresso wants espresso blends (Cherry Ripe, Milky Way, Dark Horse). Or subscribe and we'll match your grind to your routine.
