Lelit Fred Tempo PL044MMT, On-Demand Espresso Grinder with Timed Dosing

The Lelit Fred Tempo is the Fred Prima with a timer added, and for daily espresso drinkers, that's the difference that changes the workflow. Same 38mm conical burrs, same stepless micrometric adjustment, same compact chassis built to sit next to a Lelit Anna. The Tempo adds electronic dose control with programmable single and double shot timers, so you set it once and stop watching the grinder every morning.

Simple, compact, and now properly hands-free.

Programmable dose timers

Set timed doses for single and double shots and hit the button, the grinder stops on its own. No more counting seconds, no more catching the grinder a beat late, no more inconsistent doses from day to day. For anyone grinding the same recipes every morning, this is the feature that makes a home espresso routine actually routine.

38mm conical steel burrs

Conical burrs run slower and cooler than flat burrs and produce a grind profile that suits espresso. Same burr set as the Fred Prima, compact enough to keep the grinder small, consistent enough to pull proper shots once dialled in.

Stepless micrometric adjustment

Turn the collar and the burrs move in the smallest increments, no clicks, no fixed presets. Dial in the grind for espresso, nudge it as beans change, stay in the sweet spot. The same grind control principle used on grinders costing far more.

Compact footprint to match the Anna

Sized and finished to sit next to a Lelit Anna without the pairing looking awkward. For buyers kitting out a first prosumer espresso setup in a small kitchen, the Anna and Fred Tempo together fit where a bigger combination wouldn't.

When to buy the Tempo over the Prima

The Fred Prima (PL043MMI) does everything the Tempo does except the timed dosing, you hold the button while it grinds, release when you've got enough. If you weigh every dose or prefer the direct control, the Prima is cheaper and does the job. If you grind the same doses every day and want the grinder to stop on its own, the Tempo's timer is worth the step up. Same burrs, same chassis, same performance in the cup, the difference is entirely in the workflow.

Honest about what it is

The Fred Tempo is Lelit's mid-entry espresso grinder. It's built for home use at the Anna and Victoria end of the range, and it will pull proper espresso shots consistently. If you're running an Elizabeth or a Bianca, the Lelit William or a Baratza Sette is the right match, this is a different category of grinder. For pairing with a first prosumer machine and wanting hands-free dosing at a sensible price, the Fred Tempo is it.
