The Lelit Anita PL042EMI is the mid-range Anita, sitting between the base PL042EM and the PID-equipped PL042TEMD in Lelit's all-in-one range. Same integrated 38mm conical burr grinder, same LELIT57 group, same compact Anna-tier chassis philosophy. The EMI brings refinements in fit and finish over the base EM without stepping up to the cost of PID temperature control.
For buyers who want the Anita format with improvements over the entry model, without the full PID upgrade of the TEMD.
Like the rest of the Anita range, the EMI integrates a compact conical burr grinder alongside the brew group. Grind-on-demand straight into the portafilter, tamp with the built-in tamper, brew. One appliance handling the full workflow.
Same 38mm conical steel burrs as the other Anita variants, with stepless micrometric adjustment via a side knob. The stepless design is a genuine rarity at this price point in integrated machines, most competitors lock you into stepped presets, and it's a meaningful advantage when dialling in a new coffee.
57mm LELIT57 group and portafilter, consistent across the Anita range. Important to know: this is not the 58mm commercial standard used on the Victoria, Elizabeth, MaraX, and Bianca. 57mm accessories are less widely available than 58mm, so if you're likely to upgrade later, that's a factor worth considering.
Brass boiler, 2.7L tank, multidirectional steam wand with anti-burn handle. Same thermal and steaming architecture as the rest of the Anita line, properly specified for texturing milk and pulling back-to-back shots in a way that cheaper integrated machines can't match.
The PL042EMI is a mid-range Anita with finish and feature refinements over the base PL042EM, but without the PID temperature control and display of the PL042TEMD. If you want programmable temperature control and the thermal stability that comes with it, the TEMD is worth the step up. If you want the lowest-priced Anita, the EM is the answer. The EMI is for buyers happy to sit between those two.
The Anita comes in three versions, all sharing the same integrated 38mm conical burr grinder, LELIT57 group (57mm portafilter), brass boiler, 2.7L water tank, multidirectional steam wand, and built-in tamper. The differences are in the controls and temperature management:
PL042EM, the base model. Brew pressure gauge on the front, analogue switches, no PID. The most affordable way into the Lelit all-in-one range.
PL042EMI, the mid-range Anita. Refinements in fit and finish over the EM, but still without PID control. Sits between the entry model and the top of the range.
PL042TEMD, the top Anita, with PID temperature control and a proper display managing both coffee and steam temperatures. The version to buy if consistent shot-to-shot temperature matters to you, which, for most people dialling in espresso, it does.
