Lelit Anita PL042TEMD, Compact Espresso Machine with Built-In Grinder and PID

The Lelit Anita PL042TEMD is the top of the Anita range, the only one with PID temperature control. Same integrated 38mm conical burr grinder as its siblings, same LELIT57 group, same compact chassis, with the addition of a proper PID display that lets you set and monitor brew temperature precisely. For anyone serious about dialling in espresso from an all-in-one, this is the Anita that makes the difference.

The integrated machine to buy at the Anna tier if you want PID control and you don't need the 58mm group or pre-infusion of the Kate.

PID temperature control on both coffee and steam

The termoPID controls temperature on both the coffee and steam side of the boiler. You can set brew temperature precisely and the display keeps it locked there, shot after shot, so extractions don't drift as the machine cycles. For anyone dialling in coffee at home, this is the single feature that makes shots consistent, and it's what sets the TEMD apart from every other Anita.

Espresso machine and grinder in one chassis

Integrated conical burr grinder next to the brew group, grinding straight into the portafilter via a side-knob operation. Built-in tamper on the grinder output. The full grind-tamp-brew workflow happens in one appliance with one plug.

38mm conical steel burrs with stepless adjustment

38mm conical steel burrs with stepless micrometric adjustment via a side knob. Stepless is rare in all-in-one machines and it matters, it's the difference between "close enough" and actually hitting the shot, particularly when switching between coffees.

LELIT57 group and brew pressure gauge

57mm LELIT57 group with a front-mounted manometer showing brew pressure in real time, the green zone between 8-12 bar indicates proper extraction. Note: the 57mm standard is distinct from the 58mm group used on the Victoria, Elizabeth, MaraX, and Bianca, so 58mm accessories don't transfer across.

Brass boiler and multidirectional steam wand

Brass boiler rather than the thermocoil setups common in cheaper integrated machines, matters for thermal stability and steam capacity. Multidirectional steam wand with anti-burn handle textures milk properly for flat whites and cappuccinos, in a way most bean-to-cup machines simply can't.

Where the TEMD sits in the range

The PL042TEMD is the top of the Anita range: the only variant with PID temperature control. If consistent shot-to-shot temperature matters, and for most people who care enough to dial in espresso, it does, this is the Anita to buy. The PL042EM and PL042EMI are the non-PID variants for buyers with different priorities.

Choosing between the three Anita variants

The Anita comes in three versions, all sharing the same integrated 38mm conical burr grinder, LELIT57 group (57mm portafilter), brass boiler, 2.7L water tank, multidirectional steam wand, and built-in tamper. The differences are in the controls and temperature management:

PL042EM, the base model. Brew pressure gauge on the front, analogue switches, no PID. The most affordable way into the Lelit all-in-one range.

PL042EMI, the mid-range Anita. Refinements in fit and finish over the EM, but still without PID control. Sits between the entry model and the top of the range.

PL042TEMD, the top Anita, with PID temperature control and a proper display managing both coffee and steam temperatures. The version to buy if consistent shot-to-shot temperature matters to you, which, for most people dialling in espresso, it does.
