The Lelit Anna PL41EM is the cheapest way into the Lelit prosumer ecosystem, the base Anna, stripped back to essentials. A 58mm commercial portafilter, a compact 23cm-wide chassis, a brass boiler, and the same build quality as every machine further up the range. No PID, no display, no menus. Flip it on, wait for it to come up to temperature, pull a shot.
For buyers who want the Anna's credentials without paying for features they don't need, this is the one.
The PL41EM uses the same 58mm commercial-standard portafilter as the Victoria, Elizabeth, and every proper prosumer machine in the Lelit range. Whatever tampers, distributors, or precision baskets you buy now carry forward if you upgrade later, nothing becomes obsolete when you move up.
No PID, no LED interface, no programmable anything. Three switches: power, brew, steam. The machine does what you tell it to do, and you work out the rest through practice. For anyone who grew up on manual espresso machines or prefers not to have electronics between them and the coffee, this is how Lelit's range starts.
23cm wide, small enough to fit under most kitchen cabinets and leave room for a grinder next to it. The Anna is Lelit's answer to "what's the smallest proper espresso machine I can buy?", and the PL41EM is the most affordable version of that answer.
If you want a Lelit machine, a 58mm portafilter, and prosumer build quality at the lowest price point the brand offers, the PL41EM is it. It's the version to buy if you know you want the platform and you'd rather put the money saved towards a better grinder, which, for home espresso, is where the money goes furthest anyway.
The Anna comes in three versions, all sharing the same 58mm commercial portafilter, compact 23cm footprint, and build quality. The difference is in the controls and features:
PL41EM, the base model. No display, no PID, analogue operation. The most affordable way into the Anna range and the smallest proper 58mm prosumer espresso machine Lelit makes.
PL41LEM, the updated non-PID Anna. LED interface with red and green ready indicators, improved steam strength, brew pressure gauge, and a 3-way valve for easier cleaning. Meaningful everyday improvements over the EM without the cost of PID control.
PL41TEM, the Anna with PID temperature control and a proper display for setting and monitoring brew temperature. Locks temperature shot after shot, adjustable in small increments to suit different roasts. The version to buy if consistent temperature matters to you, which, for most people dialling in espresso, it does.
All three use the same 58mm portafilter standard, so accessories carry across. The decision comes down to how much control you want over the shot, and how much you're willing to pay for it.
