Home espresso, dialled in

Home espresso machines from Sage and Lelit

Two brands we'd put on our own counter. Sage for everyday convenience and learning curve. Lelit for traditional Italian feel and long-term build.

Field stocks Sage and Lelit because together they cover every realistic home espresso setup, from a compact daily driver to a paddle-group dual boiler. Both brands have honest engineering, parts you can get, and machines built to be worked on. We're a preferred dealer for both. If you're not sure which lane fits you, the comparison and tiers below help.

Where to start

Three places to begin, depending on whether you want a forgiving daily driver, room to grow, or no compromises.

  1. Tier 01

    New to espresso

Sage Bambino, Bambino Plus, and Lelit Anna sit at the entry tier. Small footprint, real 9-bar extraction, honest learning curve. Any of these will pull a proper shot.

  2. Tier 02

    Stepping up

Barista Express, Barista Express Impress, Lelit Victoria, Kate, Elizabeth, and MaraX. Full manual control or built-in grinder, better heat stability, room to grow into your shot.

  3. Tier 03

    Going deep

Dual Boiler, Oracle Jet, Oracle Dual Boiler, Lelit Bianca. Paddle-group precision, dual boilers, the kind of machine that rewards a serious grinder and serious beans.

Pair it up

Match your coffee to your setup

Three pairings we'd actually make ourselves. One entry, one all-rounder, one for the paddle group.

Email answers@field-coffee.de. We've set up plenty of these and can talk you through dialling in your first shot.

  4. Q04 Sage or Lelit, which?

Sage if you want convenience, fast warm-up, and a learning curve that forgives mistakes. Lelit if you want traditional Italian build, an E61 group, and a machine to grow into. Both have parts and support behind them. If you're new and on a budget, start Sage. If you're moving up from an entry machine and want something that lasts a decade, look at Lelit.

  5. Q05 Which coffee should I use?

Any of our espresso roasts. Cherry Ripe is a forgiving start. Milky Way for lighter tastes. Dark Horse if you like it bold. Or subscribe and we'll keep you stocked.
